Why join the American Concord Society?
This Society is an effort to improve the culture in this country. No one can, nor should, face the challenges of life alone. By becoming a member, you will be connected to a wide membership both in your vicinity as well as across this country.
We learn from each other, but we also teach each other how to be better citizens. We coordinate with local professionals to achieve this goal. We also support each other in times of need. To embrace this full experience, you must hold a membership in this organization.
Membership Levels
There are three levels of membership in the American Concord Society.
Pledge: For most of us, daily life is busy. But that should not prevent us from committing to work toward something better. The entire purpose of this organization is to enhance each individual citizen and promote community advancement. By becoming a Pledge, you are committing to this same goal.
As a Pledge, you will be eligible to receive regular updates on activities across the organization and have access to materials toward self-betterment and community involvement. When you are ready to become actively involved, simply contact us and we will help you to take the next step.
Associate: As an Associate, you can join a local chapter’s meetings. There you will work with a mentor who will guide you through the organization’s participation in your local community.
Associates receive the same benefits as a Pledge but are now committing to a more active role. To this end, you will join in regular meetings and participate in activities.
Member: Following your time as an Associate, you can join as a Member. As a Member you are entitled to the full benefits offered by the organization, including support from fellow members, unique educational experiences, and the ability to lead your local chapter and guide your community in profound ways.
Types of Meetings/Activities
The American Concord Society promotes different types of meetings of the organization.
Meeting
A standard meeting is one in which Society members congregate to discuss local issues, civics and educational lessons for membership, and outreach planning. These meetings are designed to allow members to share experiences and discuss concerns, and work on building better members. These meetings also serve as a means to plan community activities.
Community Action
This is the cornerstone of this organization. While a meeting keeps the membership together to address issues, engage in discussion, and plan outreach, community actions are how the membership puts those plans in motion. Whether it is an educational experience for members and their families, or a civic action to help the community in some unique way, community actions are the central goal of the American Concord Society.
